On June 12th, Inelec brought together some of the leading international manufacturers in the electrical and electronics sector in Madrid for its Power Technical Seminar. This event brought together more than 50 industry professionals and was notable for the high technical level of its presentations and the collaborative atmosphere between customers and manufacturers.
The event kicked off on the afternoon of June 11th with a welcome cocktail reception at Hotel 1881 on Calle Alcalá, where attendees from outside Madrid were able to share their views in a relaxed atmosphere.
The technical session on June 12th offered a packed program of high-level presentations. Electronicon gave a presentation focused on the optimal selection of capacitors for alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) applications. The company addressed key technical aspects such as nominal voltage, capacitance, ESR, and thermal classification, which are essential for ensuring reliable and efficient performance in all types of installations.
For its part, Mitsubishi Electric presented its high-voltage (HV) power modules, specifically designed for critical applications under demanding operating conditions. Attendees learned about the advantages of technologies such as STD packages, which offer great robustness and excellent switching capacity, making them ideal for highly reliable infrastructures.
Tamura, another of the seminar’s featured companies, focused its presentation on the importance of selecting the appropriate gate driver for each type of semiconductor (IGBT, SiC), considering criteria such as isolation, fault protection, and switching speed. This presentation underscored the essential role that drivers play in the efficiency and reliability of advanced power electronics systems.
In addition, a review of current sensors for both AC and DC was presented, highlighting the different technologies available (open loop, closed loop, Hall sensors, etc.) and their application in sectors such as traction, solar energy, electric mobility, and charging systems, where accurate current measurement is critical.
The session concluded with a comprehensive overview of Tamura’s magnetic solutions, including state-of-the-art reactors and transformers with liquid cooling (direct and indirect), dry-type, and cast resin technologies. These solutions are designed for highly demanding environments such as rail transport, power generation and distribution, and the naval sector.
The event, which filled the hall to capacity with more than 50 attendees, concluded with a fun activity through the center of Madrid that included a panoramic tour and dinner at the iconic Riu Plaza España Hotel, bringing the finishing touches to a day of great technical and networking value for industry professionals.
